iPad artist: Michael Rose, creator of the PaperFaces project

Michael Rose

Michael’s preferred app is Paper by FiftyThree. With it, he makes portraits for free. All you have to do is ask. And wait, the line has grown very long.

He makes portraits from user submitted photos, every day. He calls this endeavor PaperFaces.

Read this post to learn how it began and developed.

As of August 24, 2014, Michael continues to make free portraits. Commissioned portraits get priority.

On the one year anniversary of Michael’s PaperFaces project, he had completed 476 portraits. During the growth of the project he switched from one/day to two/day. It is quite a display of talent, stick-to-it-iveness, and generosity—I’m now a fan.

Checkout Michael’s site, mademistakes.com, especially if you’re a Paper fan as he produces in-depth tutorials for drawing and painting with the app.
